The Physics of Sales

A First-Principles Theory of Performance

P = sS²

Sale performance is typically explained through tactics, effort, and motivation. This framework begins elsewhere.

It models performance as a system: trained capacity (skill) interacts with a nonlinear internal amplifier (state). When state is elevated, output scales disproportionately; when it collapses, even mastery of skill produces little.

The equation P = sS² is a compressed representation of this system. It does not replace technique — it explains why technique succeeds or fails depending on the operator.

This theory is foundational. Its applications are contextual.
